Pope Francis’ Mass at Madison Square Garden
On Friday, September 25th, 2015 at 6 p.m, Pope Francis will celebrate Mass at Madison Square Garden, a popular indoor arena located in Manhattan. Madison Square Garden is a multi-purpose indoor arena, primarily used for sporting events, concerts, and other large-scale events. With a seating capacity of over 19,000, the venue proves to be a suitable location for a papal Mass in New York.
Where can I buy tickets? If you have been looking for ticket information on the Madison Square Garden Mass and other events in New York here is what the Archdiocese of New York is telling us…
Tickets will not be sold and they will be extremely limited. Tickets will be primarily distributed to parishes within the Archdiocese of New York, with a limited number distributed to the other dioceses in New York State. Other Catholic organizations and institutions throughout the archdiocese of New York will also receive tickets, who will then extend invitations to their members. You can contact your own diocesan chancery office after July 1 for more information. There will be no tickets available publicly through any other means, if you live in New York, we suggest that you reach out to your parish after July 1.
Basically, if you are not a parishioner belonging to the Archdiocese of New York, your chances of getting tickets for events like the Madison Square Garden Mass are slim. If you live outside New York, your best option is to have someone you know who is a member of the archdiocese of New York, try and get a ticket for you.
